Located in Solana Del Mar, this five bedroom home complete with a pool/sauna, outdoor kitchen, lounge, guest house, and pickle ball court is the perfect oasis for an adventurous family 6!
One of the main goals while renovating this mid-century home was to maintain the existing structural elements and celebrate its unique architectural details while creating a new functional space for a wild and fun family with four active boys. The beauty of this project is that it sits on a lot of land, tucked away in the hills of North County, creating an oasis for this family. When the clients hired us, the wheels were spinning…”We can put a pickle ball court here, the basketball court there, the surf boards will go here and an outdoor shower, maybe here.. and here?” So the planning began.
We completely remodeled the existing layout of the home and added on to create more room for the family. The only other existing structures was a 3 car garage and a separate building that housed an office. But we knew, in addition, we were going to need a pool/guest house, an outdoor kitchen and living room, as well as a gym. In collaboration with a local Architect we strategically incorporated all these new dwellings to fit nicely within the landscape and make it feel as though these spaces have been here since the beginning.
Marrying the new and the old designs now flood the home with natural light and highlight the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets from both sides of the property. The moment you walk into this home, the floor-to-ceiling windows, doors, and skylights are like a warm hug from the outside. The natural finishes and the interior details are an ode to nature’s color palette, honoring the gorgeous landscape surrounding the home and allowing a family of 6 to thrive.
It’s a dream come true for us, to create such a sanctuary, for such a special family. This is a home that will forever enrich the lives of these young boys and the fact that we were a part of it, makes us very happy.
